The violent assault on the Capitol has put national focus on hate groups, particularly white supremacists and the far-right. The US recently issued an unprecedented warning of danger of “violent domestic extremists.”

TOLI invites you to hear from experts about the escalation of extremism online and in our communities, and what can be done against this growing menace.

The panel will include:
Andrew Marantz, staff writer at The New Yorker specializing in social media, technology, and the alt-right. He is the author of the book “Antisocial: Online Extremists, Techno-Utopians, and the Hijacking of the American Conversation.”

Deborah Lauter, Executive Director of the NYC Office for the Prevention of Hate Crimes. A former Senior Vice-President of the Anti-Defamation League, Deborah Lauter brings decades of experience as a civil rights activist and educator, developing anti-bigotry programs for schools, law enforcement, and communities.
