The HDEC is in need of Foreign/Editors. Although most of our interviews are done in English, it is only natural for a Survivor of the Holocaust to use words and expressions in their native language. To date, we have over twenty different languages in our collection. The foreign/editor will be given an interview with words in their native tongue. They listen to the entire interview and look for the foreign words. The key is to be sure that these words are spelled correctly, are written in the correct context of the sentence, as well as translated. Languages include: German, Polish, Hungarian, French, Czech, Dutch, Yiddish, Spanish, Russian, and more.
We have many reference books, guides, dictionaries and a laptop for our volunteers to research names, places, dates and everything Holocaust related.
