Writing Experiences of Ghettos, Killing Centres, and Camps in Eastern Europe
Date: Tuesday, March 18, 2025
Time: 1:00 PM EST
This online roundtable explores the rich, but underexplored, literature that emerged out of, and about, Holocaust sites in Eastern Europe. The speakers will discuss the uneasy place of this body of writing within the canon of Holocaust literature, how these texts reshape our understanding of the Holocaust, and the role literature played for people confined in ghettos.
This roundtable is part of an ongoing series featuring original research from the forthcoming Cambridge History of Holocaust Literature. For more information, you can visit the website Rethinking Holocaust Literature: Contexts, Canons, and Circulations.
